Founder/OwnerArtistic Director Raechele Lovell presents, DiverseWorks; a new Professional Dance Company for Waterloo Region! DiverseWorks is a Black-Owned Business working to bring representation and diversity into the dance industry with a progressive approach to performance, education and retail. DiverseWorks will operate under 3 umbrellas: DiverseWorks Dance Company – Exploring the intersection between Eurocentric classical dance and the Afro-Diaspora, through a Canadian lens. This Professional Dance Company will present Contemporary Dance Works to the Community, utilizing a diverse range of professionally trained dancers, under the Artistic Direction of Raechele Lovell. DiverseWorks Classes & Workshops – Providing a range of both Traditional and Contemporary/Fusion Dance Classes & Workshops for ages 2-adult to learn, grow and gain exposure to dance, whilst engaging with our community. DiverseWorks Dancewear – Representation Matters! Our Dancewear brand seeks to provide a diverse range of dancewear that is representational of the BIPOC community. We aim to shatter the barriers that Black and Brown dancers face in finding “flesh-toned” shoes, tights and undergarments that are appropriate for dance, as well as providing quality garments for both girls AND boys. After spending over 2 decades working Professionally in the Dance Industry as a Dancer, Choreographer, Instructor, Coach, Choreographer and Company Manager; as well as a professional background in Sales, Marketing, Retail and Management, Raechele Lovell is utilizing her experience and expertise to build a high-quality dance brand in our region – for us, by us.
